Exhibit
Autonomy

Autonomy sold enterprise search software, which is not usually a business famous enough to end up across the chest of a Premier League club. In 2010, Tottenham put Autonomy on its shirts.
A year later, Hewlett-Packard bought Autonomy for more than $11 billion. A year after that, HP recorded an $8.8 billion impairment charge and blamed serious accounting problems. This is, oddly, not the only exhibit here with an HP afterlife; HP also bought Humane's assets after the AI Pin collapsed.
The legal afterlife went in several directions: HP won most of its UK civil fraud case, while Mike Lynch was later acquitted in the U.S. criminal trial.
